Our Story: From Perseverance to Excellence

In 1971, Joseph Ceder founded JC Sewer & Drain Service with a simple mission: provide honest, reliable plumbing service while treating every customer like family. Joe had arrived in America at age 25 with his family, seeking a better life after years of persecution. With determination, skill, and an unwavering commitment to his customers, he built JC Sewer & Drain Service into a household name across Long Island and Queens.

To Joe, no customer was ever “just a customer.” He didn’t just fix faucets and unclog drains—he took the time to sit and talk, to hear how people were doing, to share stories and crack jokes. Even years after his retirement at age 89, customers continued to ask about him, send their regards, and remember the personal connection he brought to every service call. Joe remembered every single one of them.

When Joseph passed away in September 2020, he left behind more than a successful business—he left a legacy of care, craftsmanship, and community that continues to guide us every single day.

Today, JC Sewer & Drain Service is proudly operated by Joseph’s grandchildren, including Mike, who worked alongside his grandfather for years, learning not just the technical skills of the trade, but the values that made the business special. When Mike and the family took over day-to-day operations, they made a commitment: to honor Joseph’s legacy while bringing modern expertise and equipment to serve our community even better.
